All about my love for the Lord

He came for you….

on March 12, 2012

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessings from the Lord and vindication from God his savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates, lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty-he is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:1-10

I love this psalm. It glorifies the Lord and tells us of His great importance. It points to the Messiah coming. The Lord Almighty. We wait in anticipation for His triumphant return. It is by His sacrifice on the cross that we, all of us, who are dirty, impure, unclean may come and sit at His feet and make our requests known to Him. He bore our filth on the cross with each nail. He took on all of our sin. We often think of His greatest pain as the physical anguish he endured, it was horrible by any standards. But the greatest pain He took, with obedience, was the price of all our sin. He took on every past, present and future transgression. He washed us clean as snow with His blood. We no longer have to call open the gates of ancient doors to give praise and seek Him. His gift of eternal life opened the gates. The God of Jacob came to us in flesh. He came to show us the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE….through Him. Seek His face that you may delight in His glory. Seek His face that you may turn away from the transgressions in your life. Seek His face that you may fully and wholly dependent on Him. He will lead you on paths of righteousness. He is your great redeemer. Give thanks and praise to the One who created the seas and stars for your delight. Give thanks and praise to the One whose ear is so close and hand is so large that He cradles us gently as He listens to every heart desire. Praise the One who is worthy of all our praise.

Dear Father,
You are mighty and strong. You hold the world in Your hands. You hold each of us…never letting us fall. Thank you dear Lord.

Please forgive me when I turn from the Cross and your mighty sacrifice. Thank you for being ever present. Thank you for never forsaking me. Thank you for leaning in to hear every desire of my heart.

I will delight in You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
