All about my love for the Lord

His love endures forever…

“He is good; His love endures forever.” 2Chronicles5:13

If one person reads this today and brings their heart to Christ, I will have done what the Lord has asked.

For those of us who are firmly cemented in the knowledge of Christ, we know and understand that God is so very good and His love endures forever.  He is perfect in the way He loves us.  He loves us wholly and unconditionally.  Yet, if you are distant from the Lord or have never received His gift of salvation, you may not understand or fathom that God, as big and deep as He is, loves you completely.  He is capable of holding the whole world together and still He holds you tenderly in His hands.

This notion, for many years, was far greater than I could understand. I was approaching God purely from a logical, human perspective. I tried desperately to relate to Him on a person to person level.  That doesn’t work.  He is not human.  (Jesus was sent to us in the image of man so that we would understand and receive God’s perfect love.)  He is everything….literally.  God is abounding around us.  He fills all the cracks and crevices of our lives.  He is the glue that holds us all together.

Recently I was talking to a friend who at a very young age was widowed with a four year old.  She had been with her husband since she was a teenager.  Unexpectedly, without warning, her husband went to be with the Lord.  Her son, the four year old, was very logically in his acceptance of his father’s death.  He knew that Jesus had come down to take him to heaven.  He told his mother this without prompting.  He comforted her in their time of sorrow.  The little children will lead us.

Children have faith like none other.  They live fully for the Lord.  They trust His promise of eternal life and complete provision.

Recently Max prayed for the strength to hit a homerun.  He even told God that he would be ok if the homerun happened when he was in high school. He trusts.  He knows God is good.  So, what happened?  Well, not a homerun, yet… He did, however, hit the ball farther and harder than his little 48 pound body has ever hit a ball.  Clear past the shortstop into the outfield.  He praised God.  He acknowledged that his strength came (comes) from the Lord.  To have such faith is pure and loyal.  He trusts with absolute certainty that the Lord will answer the desires and prayers of his heart.  Praise God!

If you are distant from the Lord, come…sit at His throne of grace.  Ask Him into your heart.  Ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit.  Ask Him to forgive all your transgressions.  Accept that He alone is the key to heaven…life everlasting.  It only takes a moment to give your life to the One who created it…the One who loves you most and who put you on this earth for distinct purpose.

I pray you feel the presence of the Lord today.  He is ready and waiting for you to come to Him so that He may carry your burdens and delight in your joy.  Your life will change in ways you never expected when you give it to the Lord.

Call to Him…won’t you?
